Have you ever purchased airfare and wondered whether or not you got a good deal or if you overpaid?

Researching and buying airfare is stressful and can feel like you’re playing roulette. Despite countless websites touting best deals and research like what the best day of the week is to book airfares, it’s easy to wonder if you got the best possible price.

Mix in some analysis paralysis from overthinking the abundance of information available online and it’s no wonder people looking to purchase airfares visit travel websites repeatedly before daring to hit the “purchase” button.

Help is here! The free Hopper app for iPhone and iPad smartly “predicts” when you should buy and when you should fly by analyzing the dizzying amount of airfare data on the web.

hopper App
Travel App Spotlight Hopper

You begin by entering in where you are flying from and where you would like to go. Hopper checks airfares for your selected route over a few months.

The next screen will display a color-coded calendar showing you a range of when your selected route is cheapest to when it’s most expensive. At the top of the screen, Hopper will also display information about typical best prices for your selected route.

hopper2

Using the color-coded calendar, select your travel dates. Depending on the dates you select, Hopper will give you advice on what your next steps should be.

hopper3

For example, flying from New York City to Miami, I selected dates coded in green. These are the days where the best prices for my route are available.

hopper4

Hopper’s advice is to buy now. The fare information includes the price, as well as predictions about the fare, and how it will change within the coming weeks.

By clicking on the fare, Hopper will display airlines and flight schedules.

hopper5

Select your outbound and inbound flights to create your itinerary and tell Hopper how many passengers are flying.

hopper6

From this screen, you can select from online travel booking sites like Orbitz or Travelocity, as well as from the airlines themselves, and Hopper will redirect you in order for you to complete your purchase.

If the dates you select are coded yellow, orange or red indicating higher-priced airfares, Hopper will again give you information about the fare, what will happen to it over the coming weeks, and whether or not you should buy.

hopper7

By clicking the “Tips” icon at the bottom of your screen, Hopper will also offer feedback on how you can lower your price.

If you’re not ready to book, click the binoculars icon in the upper righthand corner to set up a “watch” for this trip. Hopper will monitor fares and let you know if the price drops so you can book at the best possible price.

Hopper saves you time and money by searching through the mass of airfare data cluttering the web. Worry no more! Download the Hopper app and fly confidently knowing you got the best available airfare price for your trip!

Have you tried the Hopper app? I would love to hear your experiences below in the comments!

I haven’t tried this app, but I’ll give it at try now. I definitely suffer from analysis paralysis and it sometimes keep me from getting the best fare because I wait too long. This will be very helpful.

What a coincidence! I downloaded the app a few weeks back and have played around it for a bit. Haven’t made any booking through the app yet so far though but would be happy to see how it fares when I finally need to make a booking.

Instagram post 17907393268380314 During the holidays, what city really pumps up that holiday spirit? For me, the fabulous & colorful Prague really did the trick. This photo from the clock tower is one of my faves. I could have stood there all night and just take in the view!

I did for awhile but then it was time to buy some goodies and get a snack & some hot chocolate! *****************************************************************************************

Prague is a wonderful visit all year round but being in this fabulous city during the holiday season will definitley put you in spirit! ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** #cnntravel #cnbctravel #fodorsonthego #ongooglemaps #forbestravelguide #special_shots #sheisnotlost #bbctravel #iamtb #travelbreak #timeoutsociety #travelworldwide #goneoutdoors #seetheworldwithme #passportexpress #theeverygirltravels #mmmexplore #lonelyplanettraveller #matadornetwork #visitprague #ig_prague #iloveprague #praguetrip #beautifulprague #wonderful_prague #visitczechrepublic #visitczech #praguecity #praguelife #praguestagram
Instagram post 18107170630072031 Beautiful Prague is one my favorite citys in Europe. A walk across the Charles Bridge is a must, especially as the sun sets. From the arched tower at one end of this iconic spot, you can walk around the whole outside and get a 360 degree look of the city. The photos from here are spectacular!

Prague makes for a great visit during the holiday season. If you happen to be there during the holidays, head to a Christmas market....after a walk across the bridge of course! *******************************************************************************************************************************************************

I watched this guy for a while. Well, he was more than happy to pose, as you can see! Actually, there were birds landing on him to eat the bugs off his coat, which I think he was thoroughly enjoying. Have I mentioned how amazing it is to see wildlife like this on its own turf!?

Instagram post 18034887367146846 Planning a trip to NYC this summer? You’ve got to see the new Hudson Yards! 😍

There’s still a lot of work going on in the area. But the Vessel is open for visitors who want to climb to the top. The surrounding buildings are up and open, too. (Love my wide-angle @sandmarc iPhone lens to capture it all!) When you’re done head inside, right behind the Vessel, for some authentic tapas and paella at Mercado Little Spain! ****************

Instagram post 17989613338226504 Do you do any sightseeing where you live?

Living in NYC for so long, I sometimes go about what I have to do without noticing all the amazing sights around me.
Well, I was out walking in lower Manhattan and I came upon an intersection (Fulton and Nassau St.) with a fantastic view of One World Trade, aka the Freedom Tower!
Of course, I wasn’t walking around with my actual camera so I pulled out my iPhone to grab a shot. It got even better when I realized I had my @sandmarc iPhone telephoto lens. I clipped it on, gave it a touch of zoom and wow! 😍

What do you think of the with and without photos? ****************

Instagram post 17999216353223291 How many photos do you take everyday with your iPhone?? 📱

I have to admit, after all the rainy weather in NYC I jumped at the chance to take photos around the city once the skies turned blue. And, I think I broke even my record for photos taken in a single day!! 😬 🤷🏻‍♀️ But Central Park looked so green and alive, I didn’t want to leave so I stayed to play with my new @sandmarc iPhone lenses. I’ve got their wide angle lens and their telephoto lens.
What do you think of these comparison shots? The first 4 I experimented with and without the wide angle lens and the last 2 I did the same but with the telephoto lens. Absolutely loved what these lenses added to my shots! ****************
