Welcome to The Globetrotting Teacher! I’m thrilled to have you as part of the TGT community where readers come for inspiring and practical guides about destinations and experiences around the globe, as well as find their online classroom to learn the art of travel hacking a.k.a using loyalty program miles and points for award travel.

Get to Know Me

I’m Jackie, a passionate globetrotter who started The Globetrotting Teacher in March 2015 while I was teaching elementary school. My hope was to share my travel experiences, travel planning advice, and the tips my husband and I use to make more travel possible with airline and hotel miles and points. The content gives readers like you the expert advice, information and inspiration you need to discover new destinations, plan your trips, and travel the world with confidence.

I travel mostly with my favorite travel companion, Peter my husband. But, I don’t hesitate to book solo trips and even surprise my family and friends with new travel experiences.

What do you need help with?

New readers to The Globetrotting Teacher find the site because they’re in search of a travel guide for a particular destination, want to learn how to travel hack, or need travel advice or inspiration.

Do you want to learn how to use airline miles and points to travel hack your way around the globe for less?

Sign-up for my Free 7-part Travel Hacking Course where you’ll get all the basics and more! Between my husband and me, I’m the brains behind our miles and points travel. In the course, I share the same steps we’ve used to travel hack our way to Europe, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Asia.

Need help during the course? No worries. Just get in touch using the course materials and I’ll personally guide you through whatever the challenge is.

TGT subscribers get access to the Free Resource Library which has exclusive downloadable destination guides and resources only for TGT subscribers. The library is updated monthly and new resources come directly from what readers like you tell me they want. What good is a free library if it doesn’t have the travel resources you’re looking for, right?

The Globetrotting Teacher has 100s of travel articles. If you’re looking for a specific destination or need some travel inspiration, let us point you in the right direction.

  • TGT readers love the “most popular posts” list in the sidebar on the homepage. Several of those posts have been shared and viewed over 30k+ times!
  • To find something quickly, use the search box also located in the sidebar to type quick keywords like Paris, Santiago, Romania, or Angkor Wat.
  • The destinations tab from the navigation menu is broken into continents and countries to make browsing simple. Each post also includes a selection of recommended posts at the bottom with more travel tips and inspiration. 🙂
